One of the most difficult conversations a parent may ever have is preparing their child for the loss of a loved one. However, children can understand that death is likely or anticipated. And children are more likely to cope positively when they have the opportunity to prepare themselves emotionally. Wonders & Worries experienced staff can guide you and support your child or teen in the following ways:
- Parenting Information and Support – providing guidance and resources for talking with your child(ren), preparing your child(ren) for what may happen, offering child(ren) opportunities to be involved and giving them outlets for expression. - Individual sessions or Sibling sessions together – giving age- appropriate information, providing outlets for feelings and helping families build lasting memories.
- Family sessions – facilitating communication and offering activities for capturing memories
