Expectations of Potential Affiliates

We appreciate your interest in bringing a Wonders & Worries program to your local community and are happy to help your organization make that happen. Our Vision is to have Wonders & Worries programs available to children across North America.

We have successfully implemented programs in other communities outside of Central Texas and have developed a workable expansion model. This model has allowed us to share our experience and provide the professional training needed to implement a Wonders & Worries program elsewhere without impacting our provision of services to the children of Central Texas whom we serve directly. Our current expansion model effectively requires that a potential Affiliate have the willingness and funding needed to implement and sustain a Wonders & Worries program with our organization providing the core program we have developed along with the professional training and guidance needed for your program to be successful. In our experience, here is what a potential Affiliate should be able to provide in order to implement a Wonders & Worries program:

1. There must be an existing nonprofit which the potential Affiliate will use to implement the Program or one must be created;

2. The potential Affiliate’s nonprofit must comply with all local laws and regulations, if any, necessary to provide the services associated with a Wonders & Worries Program;

3. The potential Affiliate must be willing to enter into an appropriate contractual relationship and intellectual licensing agreement with Wonders & Worries to use our name and implement our Program. The terms of our agreement may be modified over the course of the Affiliate’s relationship with Wonders & Worries (subject, of course, to the terms of our agreement) to adjust to potential changes in our organization’s structure and its needs;

4. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to employ a certified child life specialist acceptable to Wonders & Worries to implement the Program;

5. The potential Affiliate must have or secure appropriate space, including a therapeutic playroom, dedicated specifically to the implementation of the Program and acceptable to Wonders & Worries;

6. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding to obtain the materials, supplies, and library associated with the Program;

7. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to arrange for the Wonders & Worries National Program Director to travel, at the Affiliate’s expense, to the proposed site.

8. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to arrange for the Wonders & Worries National Program Director to travel, at the Affiliate’s expense, to meet with the proposed child life specialist.

9. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to send its child life specialist to travel to Austin (at the Affiliate’s expense) to receive training in the Program;

10. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to report and follow up regularly with Wonders & Worries as Wonders & Worries may require about the implementation of the Affiliate’s Wonders & Worries Program; and

11. The potential Affiliate must have the willingness and funding needed to provide the services associated with its Wonders & Worries program free of charge.

Please contact us if you are interested in establishing a Wonders & Worries program in your community. As an organization, Wonders & Worries is always looking for opportunities to improve and systematize our expansion efforts in a sustainable way. We are open to new ideas and suggestions about how to make our program services available to the children who need them regardless of where they live. Likewise, if you are interested in helping Wonders & Worries realize its Vision, we are actively seeking sponsors and donations for the purpose of expansion.
