Parent Consultations

Parenting support is an essential element of Wonders & Worries. Our goal at Wonders & Worries is to partner with parents to support their children. Some families may choose to engage only in parent consultations and not have their children or teens become directly involved in our services. In situations where a grandparent has an illness and the child’s parents or caregivers are available, child life staff may recommend parenting support only.

Parent consults can be provided in person via phone or via e-mail. A parent consult can be requested as needed by parents or may be recommended by child life staff. A face-to-face parent consult is recommended following a child’s or teen’s participation in a 6-week group or individual sessions. Parent consults allow parents to share concerns, ask parenting questions, update illness information or receive feedback from your child’s primary child life staff person.
